30 Herbs to Heal a Village
“A DEMYSTIFIED APPROACH TO BEING EXTREMELY HELPFUL”
What do you really need to be an effective herbalist? A deep understanding of some locally accessible herbs and how to formulate them, along with basic knowledge of typical health complaints, some therapeutic principles, and a close connection to the particular needs of your community. All of these intersect at the junctures represented by a relatively small materia medica of plant medicines you know thoroughly and intimately.
In this "demystified approach to being extremely helpful," you can start to develop into herbal medicine workers for your peoples without all the psycho-spiritual stresses that accompany being the only one holding access to esoteric arts. We build our herbal medicine cabinet starting from the herbs that are safest, most accessible, most sustainable, and easiest to administer: these plants ally themselves to our collective needs, so a whole village can thrive in health and be resilient to shared stresses.
