Plant Medicine VII - Low Dose Medicinals Advanced Study Group
October is for spooky stuff! Although there is not an application process for this class, it is not recommended for beginning herbalists. Please contact the school if you have questions about whether it is appropriate for your level of study.
This class is oriented towards practicing herbalists and advanced level students. We will be doing research into old books from the Eclectic and Homeopathic literature and doing personal study along with class discussion. Many of the plants covered in this class are overtly toxic: we will not be able to offer tastings for these herbs. Plants such as Aconite-Monkshood, Poke Root, Pulsatilla, Veratrum False Hellebore, Arnica, Silk Tassel, Ephedra, Baptisia, Dogbane, Bittersweet Nightshade, Wild Iris, Inmortal, Blue Cohosh, Lobelia and many others will be covered. We will be placing the use of these herbs into their historical clinical contexts for the purposes of studying this fascinating branch of herbal medicine.
