L.L. Stub Stewart State Park

Come enjoy a full day of hiking and herbal medicine education at a site of incredible plant diversity and beautifully restored forest habitat. Old trees, lush understory and wide open trails at a terrific state park that is open for day use. L.L. Stub Stewart State Park has many plant communities and tons of trails for exploring. If you haven’t explored the land about 40 minutes east of Portland, this is a great opportunity to experience it while learning all the plants!

 

Hiking difficulty: Easy trails. Total hiking distance approximately 5 miles.

 

This is a full day of plant medicine exploration. Study in the field includes botanical identification, ecological awareness, discussion of harvesting techniques and considerations, medicinal uses both traditional and modern, and medicine making. Tincture tasting may be included, with the opportunity to purchase plant medicines if desired. There will be a mid-day lunch break.

 

Date and Times: Saturday, May 21st 2022, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

End time is approximate and depends upon weather and other circumstances.

 

Location: L.L. Stub Stewart Park. There is a $5 day use parking fee. Details about the meeting location will be included in the PDF.

However, as we prefer to spend our time in the woods rather than on the computer, we recommend downloading the file immediately.

 

Refund policy: Full refund for tuition (minus $15 admin fee) up to 1 week before the day of the hike. Less than 7 days before the day of the hike 50% of tuition can be refunded. No refunds are possible less than 24 hours before the start of the hike or for no shows.
