Medicinal Plant Hikes in 2025
Perfect for anyone just checking out herbal medicine for the first time, or anyone who wants to explore amazing natural places close to Portland. Our Friday plant walks take us to close-in, easy, accessible and family friendly locations. Some are gentle walks and some are more involved hikes (read about each hike in the description below).
Children 12 and under are welcome free with a registered adult. A few of these hikes are even toddler friendly.
Study in the field includes botanical identification, ecological awareness, harvesting considerations, and learning traditional and modern medicinal uses.
Live Online Classes
These classes are perfect for anyone living in the Pacific Northwest, from northern California to Alaska, and relevant for anyone living west of the Rockies. Some people live too far from Portland to take our in-person classes, so these classes are great for spending a comfortable evening at home delving deeply into plant medicine study!
In our Plant Medicine series of classes we follow each plant on a journey to understand its place in the world and the way it interacts with human health in body, mind, and spirit. Instruction is focused on forming healthy and beneficial relationships as we work to make effective medicines that honor the plants while helping people.

These one-month classes are designed to be taken in any sequence, so feel free to jump in at any time!
