Sometimes you need to know about things that can go wrong. Not every headache is something you can treat with herbs. Sometimes an abdominal cramp can be treated with digestive bitters and sometimes it requires an immediate visit to the ER. As herbalists we need to be able to identify when there are “red flags” that things might be a lot more serious than usual. We need to know how to distinguish what we can help with from what we cannot.
 
In the second half of this two-part class, we’ll look into how herbs can interact with other herbs and with medications, and investigate resources for researching these interactions.
 
This class is taught to the level of the very serious student of herbalism who has already had at least a year of study. However, “clinical herbalism” is not only for professionals. Learning how to take care of yourself, your family, friends and neighbors at an advanced level can be an incredibly important skill to share with the people you care about. We consider these skills to be part of rising to the challenge of being an even more amazing grandmother or wise uncle!
