You may have done this hike before, but did you learn nearly 50 native and naturalized plants???
Come join a very small group of herbal medicine students as we explore one of the most diverse and protected of all the waterfall hikes in the Columbia gorge. Massive old growth giants, wildflowers and large populations of important medicinal plants await us as we continue to study plant identification, ecology and traditional medicine of the region. And the treat of one of the best waterfalls, surrounded by a magical pool and protected native plants.
Hiking difficulty: Easy. This hike is a 2.25 mile loop on an easy trail with about 625 feet of elevation gain. Please register if you are physically capable of hiking.
Our half day plant walks take us to close-in, easy, accessible and family friendly locations in the Portland area. Children 12 and under are welcome free with a paying adult. Study in the field includes botanical identification, ecological awareness, discussion of harvesting techniques and considerations, medicinal uses both traditional and modern, and medicine making.
