Elk Meadows on Mount Hood

Come study mountain plant medicines… in the mountains! With a small group of five students, we will visit this extraordinary meadow: an incredible gem on the east side of Mount Hood. We will see wildlife, ancient trees, and many amazing medicinal plants. Huckleberry habitat, a river crossing, and some real hiking takes us to a gorgeous meadow full of mountain wildflowers.

Hiking difficulty: Moderate, includes somewhat steep 1000 foot elevation gain on switchbacks, and one slightly tricky river crossing. Please sign up for this hike if you are adventurous and capable.

To bring: Clothing for all possible mountain weather including layers, hats, sunscreen and good hiking shoes. Note taking materials, harvesting containers and bags (we may see a lot of huckleberries and other things). Bring and carry enough water for a whole day, a lunch, and other snacks.

Date: Saturday, August 15

Time: 10AM to approximately 5PM

Refund policy: Full refund for tuition (minus $15 admin fee) up to 1 week before start of class. Less than 7 days before the start of class 50% of tuition can be refunded.
