Come study plant medicine… in the mountains! With a small group we will make a full day excursion to visit this extraordinary meadow: a gem of the east side of Mt. Hood. Huckleberry habitat, a river crossing, and some real hiking takes us to a gorgeous meadow full of mountain wildflowers. We will see wildlife, ancient trees and get to study many amazing medicinal plants.
 
This is a full day of plant medicine exploration. Study in the field includes botanical identification, ecological awareness, discussion of harvesting techniques and considerations, medicinal uses both traditional and modern, and medicine making. Tincture tasting may be included, with the opportunity to purchase plant medicines if desired. We will take a mid-day lunch break.
 
Hiking difficulty: Moderate. Includes somewhat steep 1000 foot elevation gain on switchbacks, and one slightly tricky river crossing. Please sign up for this hike if you are adventurous and capable. 
 
To Bring: clothing for all possible mountain weather, including layers, hats, sunscreen and good hiking shoes. Note taking materials, harvesting containers and bags (we may see a lot of huckleberries and other things). Bring and carry enough water for a whole day, a lunch, and other snacks.

Refund policy: Full refund for tuition (minus $15 admin fee) up to 1 week before the day of the hike. Less than 7 days before the day of the hike 50% of tuition can be refunded. No refunds are possible for cancellations less than 24 hours before the start of the hike or for no-shows.
