10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Difficulty: Easy hiking on rock and dirt trails.

Good for kids: Yes! Children 12 and under are free and welcome! Please register teens.

This island of extraordinary plants and rock formations is not far away in a remote ocean… it’s a close-in treasure, hidden in plain sight in the middle of the Willamette River!

Incredible mature forest and riverbank herbs make this a favorite place for studying plants. Willows, giant Cottonwoods, Oak, Maple, Dogwood, and the mysterious Madrone all make up a diverse forest canopy, along with one of the most unusual trees in all of Portland!

Location: Elk Rock Island. Details about the exact meeting location are included in the PDF.
