Willamette Valley Spring Medicine Plant Walk: Tryon Creek

Date and Times: Saturday, March 21, 10:00am - 4:00pm

Location: Tryon Creek State Natural Area in Portland. Detailed meet-up location directions in the pdf.

Our exploration of Tryon Creek includes easy hiking through forested areas. We will visit many mature trees, shrubs and lovely understory plants to discuss these helpful medicines and their roles in human healing.

Spring Plant Walks and Hikes are full-day explorations of different habitats of the Willamette Valley. Study in the field includes plant identification, ecological awareness, discussion of harvesting techniques and considerations, medicinal uses both traditional and modern, and medicine making.

Willamette Valley Spring Hikes are family friendly! with the following rules:

  • Children under 12 are free and need not register, and must be accompanied at all times by an enrolled adult.
  • If a child’s needs must be attended to, their parent or guardian will agree to step away from the group to deal with them, including if they are complaining of cold or other discomfort.
  • Inquisitive and engaged older children may ask questions during the hike, but they may not completely dominate class discussions or be disruptive to the class experience for others in any way, or they and their adult may be asked to step away.

NEW Refund policy: Full refund for tuition up to 24 hours before the start of class. If you show any signs of cold or flu, you will be asked to cancel attendance.

When you purchase the class you will be given a link to download the pdf which has directions and other instrictions needed for the class.
